The One With 2 Movies and a TV Show

Episode 22 – The One With 2 Movies and a TV Show

It’s nearly time for the holidays, so what better way to spend it then listening to 3 guys talk about creature features! Just say “Alexa/Hey Google. play the latest episode of Kaiju Curry House on Spreaker” and away you go! Or just go about your normal way.

In this episode “The One With 2 Movies and a TV Show” we return to a popular format where each host talks about some kaiju media, the highs lows and if it’s worth your time. Usually this is 3 movies, but I’ve been wanting to talk about an episode of a TV show I saw ages ago, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.  If you don’t want the surprise spoiled stop reading, if you’re like a curious cat or plain hate surprises then read on…

So today’s episode has us covering Krampus, Reign of Fire and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Great variety and hopefully something to appeal to all.

If nothing else is also on top form if I do say so myself and what have kaij-you been up to have a few recommendations if you’re looking for something to binge over the festive period.

Hope you enjoy and Happy Holidays one and all!

Further info

As you (may or may not) know we have created this podcast not only because it’s fun for us to talk kaiju, but also because we want to engage with like minded people. So don’t be shy and feel free to get in touch!

If you’re just discovering us, Kaiju Curry House is a new podcast series under the Heroes Podcast Network umbrella.

Top 20 Arrowverse Heroes

The CW’s Arrowverse keeps on growing, seemingly adding new heroes every few weeks. Well, this week, we sit down with two returning guests to rank the Top 20 Arrowverse heroes. What are the rules? The hero needs to have been on at least one of Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, or Legends of Tomorrow. We are not counting Black Lightning for two reasons: 1. He hasn’t crossed over to the other shows yet. 2. We haven’t done our homework on that show and don’t want to do anyone a disservice. Everyone else who has suited up at one point or another is up for grabs!

What do you think of our Top 20 Arrowverse Hero ranking? Who are your top heroes? Did we get close? Any news you’re excited about? Let us know!

CW\DC 2016 Crossover Review

Pitching a DC Comics CW Series

This week, each of our three hosts pitch their own TV series for The CW that exists in the DC Comics and DC Entertainment universe. The show can include any DC Comics character, but hopefully some that The CW could actually get their hands on. That’s about it for the rules. The shows can exist on Earth 1 with Flash and Arrow, Earth 2 or 3, or even whichever Earth (maybe 4) that Supergirl lives in. One thing we do is take the whole DCEU into account. While Barry Allen’s Flash exists in both The Flash TV show and in the movies, with different actors, we tried not to take advantage of that too much and focus on more DC Comics characters.

So, sit back, listen in, and let us know what you think of our DC Comics TV series pitches for The CW!

Superhero Fall 2016 TV Prep

It’s that time of year again, time for the new TV season! With so much premiering in the months of September and October, we’ve decided just to focus on superhero themed TV series that premiere in those two months. This includes Marvel and DC related series. We’ll talk ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., FOX’s Gotham, Netflix’s Luke Cage, and The CW’s Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. We’ll talk about where these shows left off last season, some expectations for this season, plus our hopes and dreams as these shows move forward, some in a positive direction and others on their way down.

Please be aware that we’ll be talking spoilers from these shows. Anything that happened prior to this season is fair game. We might talk last season’s finales, significant plot points, and where this season starts off. You have been warned.

Suicide Squad – What You Need to Know

The next big DC Comics movie, Suicide Squad, is just under a month away! The live action anti-hero film stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto as The Joker. The movie takes place in the same universe as Batman v Superman, with Ben Affleck reprising his role as Batman in Suicide Squad.

To prep for the film, we sit down to talk about everything you need to know before you see it. We discuss how the group came to be, some of its previous members, how the Suicide Squad played out in The CW’s Arrow, and our thoughts on the casting. We talk about which characters we’re most excited to see plus those we might be a little nervous about.
