(UPDATED: 1:37pm CST 2016-02-26)

First, Pokemon is celebrating 20 years of game play since its original releases in Japan in 1996. Since then, the games evolved quite a bit, especially due to the technological advances with the GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advanced, and the DS line. To account for lack of compatibility of the original GameBoy games with the newer ones, Nintendo is releasing Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow in the Nintendo eShop. These games are just like the classics. Reports even say that the missingno glitch still lives.

These new digital versions of the classics will be compatible with Pokemon Bank and the Pokemon you capture can be transferred to the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, per Pokemon Direct.

The previous generation of games allowed players to use seven different languages. Well, Pokemon Sun and Moon have added two more to the list, Traditional and Simplified Chinese in addition to English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Korean.

Per the Pokemon Direct, Pokemon Sun and Moon will be out later this year, coming Holiday 2016. We don’t have any official date, the games are already available for pre-order from Best Buy and GameStop. Amazon, for some reason, only has Pokemon Sun available. The games have a pre-order price of $39.99 and are for the Nintendo 3DS.

That’s about it for this short Pokemon Direct. The digital versions of Blue, Red, and Yellow are available tomorrow in the Nintendo eShop for $9.99 each and there are 2DS bundles out in the wild, including a special Yellow one in the UK, if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one.
