The Dark Crystal Retro Review

Mystery Men 20th Anniversary Review

20 years ago, 1999 brought us some classic cinema like The Matrix, Fight Club, American Beauty, and The Sixth Sense. It brought the resurgence of long dead franchises like Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. We saw some truly bad movies like Wild Wild West and were treated with true gems like Iron Giant and Galaxy Quest. But we also received one of the weirdest superhero films to date, Mystery Men. Let’s celebrate 20 years of the satirical superhero flick in the wake of Amazon’s The Boys.

Plus, we talk the latest news in entertainment including Disney’s slashing of 20th Century Fox films, CBS & Viacom reuniting Star Trek, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and more!

Spider-Man: Far From Home Review

Fill Our Holes: They Live (1988) Review

It’s time for another Fill Our Holes retro review! This week, it’s Derreck’s pick and it brings us back to the 1980’s with the cult John Carpenter film, They Live! The film stars iconic professional wrestler Roddy “Rowdy” Piper along with Keith David. We didn’t plan for this to be our 4th of July episode… but it is pretty fitting, isn’t it?

We, of course, talk the latest in entertainment news including the Avengers: Endgame release and how it fared against Avatar. Then we talk about the new Gremlins cartoon, the possibility of the Flash film still moving forward, and more!

The Suicide Squad (2-ish) Speculation & Hopes

James Gunn’s entrance to the Worlds of DC, formally the DCEU, begins with The Suicide Squad, a film that’s not quite a reboot and not quite a sequel. This week, we talk about the upcoming film, the confirmed cast, actors and characters we’d like to see, and our overall hopes and dreams for the villain team-up flick. As always, we discuss the latest news including WB’s new CEO, the MCU courting Keanu Reeves, the possible Swamp Thing film, Daisy Ridley as Batgirl, and a full Shrek reboot!
